Hey friends, we’re going to play things a little bit by ear in our conversation this week.
Last Tuesday we called off our gathering in reaction to the tragic events at Oxford High School. I honestly don’t know what tone to take when get together this week. There have been prayer services and vigils, and I’m sure many of us have had conversations about the shooting, the victims, the alleged perpetrator, his parents, the school’s decisions, and more. What we haven’t had a chance to do is to process the events, and our reactions to them, together, as a group in fellowship with one another.
So what I’m going to propose is that we make space for us to talk about what happened, and if that takes up our time together, then that’s what we’ll do. If it turns out that the heaviness of it all is more than we want to take on, and we’d rather get our minds off of it, then I’ve got a more lighthearted topic in reserve and ready to go.
Either way, I hope you’ll join us for the conversation, tomorrow, Tuesday Dec. 7, beginning at 7 pm at 313 Pizza Bar on Flint Street in downtown Lake Orion.
