Fellowship

Pancake Supper

We are all looking for support, love, and a sense of belonging. When we meet in fellowship we are giving ourselves the chance to deepen our friendships. At Saint Mary’s we come together to support each other in simple fun ways like a church cookout, the book club, and Spiritual Stitchers. But we also come together for bible study and unemployment support. All of our time together is a way for us to share and grow together in God’s love.

  • Fellowship Committee – Our fellowship committee works hard year round to offer many different programs. Recently we have had family euchre night, open-mike night, family movie night, harvest festival and the battle of the grills.
  • Advent by Candlelight -Advent by Candlelight is a special time for women of all ages to gather for a time of spiritual reflection on the significance of the Advent season. The evening’s activities start in our parish hall. Individual tables are set and decorated by hostess volunteers who also provide the food for the buffet style dinner. After dinner we move into the worship space. It is during this prayer service that we take time to reflect on the special significance that Advent holds for women. There are different readings from scripture, and prayers are offered. One of the most magical parts of the evening is hearing several women from the parish speak about their own faith stories. In the past, women have thoughtfully shared challenges in their lives that they have moved through by relying on their faith. It is an uplifting, and awe inspiring, experience.
  • Boy Scouts – Troop 128 has been a part of the outreach ministry of St. Mary’s since 1975. The troop is not exclusive to St. Mary’s, and is open to all who would like to participate. While several St. Mary’s families have enjoyed and supported the scouting program there are many families from outside our community who are part of the troop. Troop meetings are held on Tuesday nights from 6:45 to 8:30. For more information please email scoutmaster@lotroop128.org
  • Book Club -Reading, thinking, talking, laughing – if these sound like some of your favorite things to do then you would feel right at home with the book club. Books brought this dynamic group together; the fun and fellowship of the discussions keep them coming back. The group meets monthly. Some of the recent book group selections include The Shack, A Thousand Splendid Suns, and Night.
  • Spiritual Stitchers – Good company, and discussions based on a reading, along with knitting and other hand-work. This group meets monthly and has been the knitting force behind our Prayer Shawl ministry.
